Grief Recovery

For the losses that is still holding on.

Whether you lost someone recently, or still feel frustration after your separation - learning how to manage grief is something incredibly valuable. Personally I wish we where taught this in school.

Learn what to do with your grief

An 8 week course in grief management

Grief is a normal reaction to loss and change, but most of us were never taught what to do with it. When we're grieving we get told: don't be sad, be strong, grieve alone, time heals, replace the loss, keep busy. We think that's the answer. It isn't.

Grief Recovery is a course built on an evidence-based method. We map the losses in your life and find the one to begin with. We go through that relationship in detail - what was good, what was hard, and what didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. We work out what still needs to be said. Then you write it, and read it aloud to a witness.

Most of us think grief is what happens when someone dies, or maybe when we divorce. But grief is really all the contradictory feelings around any kind of change. Separations, illness, lost trust, a pet, a life that didn't turn out the way you expected.

It's about getting those feelings out, for your own peace of mind, in a safe room with other people who are grieving. You never confront anyone - not the living, not the dead. It's your own work, and it stays in the room.

I'm not a psychologist or a psychotherapist, and this isn't treatment for depression or mental illness. It's a course in what to do with grief.
