I Don’t Want a Job
I was about to apply for a job. Then I realised — I really don’t want one.
Not now.
Maybe ever.

As soon as I posted my last update, I realised: I don’t want to apply for jobs—because I might get one.
And sure, there’s the whole economy and visa thing, but honestly? I have faith.
Getting a job right now would steal this break I've been given. A break I’ve longed for, and finally have.
For the first time in over a decade, I don’t have a company to worry about.
No team needing salaries.
No fixed costs—just a student loan at 700 SEK/month. That’s it.
So why would I apply for a job right now?
I’m off. And I’m going to enjoy it.
Maybe coming to New Zealand was what I needed to remember that.
Because those two months in Sweden? I somehow managed to stay busy the entire time. Ticking off everything on my list, even renovating a cabin.
But now… here… I’m reconnecting. With nature, with myself.
Today I sat for 15 minutes, just looking at and listening to a waterfall.
I want more of that.
I want to swim in the lake every day this summer.
Read books when it rains.
Maybe fix up my mum’s strawberry land again.
And then in the fall, maybe I’ll look for a job. Maybe from Sweden, maybe remote. Maybe not.
Nothing's really changed in New Zealand—except maybe the timeline.
I’m still driving around in my van, still looking for a place that feels like home.
I found Piha. It was amazing.
But not quite it for full-time. Too small—no supermarket, no gas station.
But wow… forest, mountains, ocean. And a nice latitude too.
So I’ll keep going.
And maybe, by the fall, the dream that’s been brewing quietly in the background—working with health, in a way that actually prevents people from getting sick—maybe that dream will be ready.
Or maybe not.
The scary and exciting part about having it all open, is that when you finally peel back the layers… you start hearing new desires.
New dreams.
And who am I not to listen?
So yeah—until next time.
I’m heading south from Auckland now, after fully ticking off Northland.
Next up: Coromandel. I’ve heard she’s a real beauty.
