Letting go of daydreamer
I used to be the biggest day dreamer. I can dream up anything. The perfect outcome of a meeting, the most romantic relationship or how well the company results are going to turn out. It's been great!

The issue is that reality is rarely as amazing as my daydreams and it took me a long time to realize my pattern of creating places and spaces in my head that doesn’t exist.
And don’t get me wrong, there are benefits of being able to dream. Dreams can turn into manifestations and goals and they can turn into reality. The issue is that it’s difficult to see the whole life in a dream.
For example when I was dreaming up Aimfor I didn’t realize that this would also mean me working way too many hours and missing out on other parts of life. And when I was dreaming about a guy, well, you know that that is rarely reality because for starters it requires another person.
Anyway during my travels I had has a goal to go more with the flow and don’t plan that much. So for long periods during the trip I’ve not known what I was going to do for more than 2-3 days a head. Sometimes not even for the day.
This has made me more present, and I’ve come to learn that as long as I know where I’m going to sleep and that there is some basic stuff in my fridge I prefer not planning that much. I enjoy being able to go with the flow and what I feel like doing. It also usually is done better and with less effort as I have the energy and inspiration to do it.
As I’ve spent more and more time in the present moment, I have realized that my inner daydreamer was a big reason to my happiness. Only it wasn’t real. When I dream up something I get that tingly feeling of excitement in my body and I start working towards it. But what I’m doing in the present moment to reach that goal might not be as tingly. Sure sometimes starting new things might be more scary than tingling, and sometimes a fun thing require some boring admin, but that is not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about spending a big portion of my time on things I don’t enjoy just to reach my dream. And once again I might not even like the reality of reaching the dream I have in my head, because there are so many factors I cannot consider.
So I’m realizing that a better way to live is to do what ever I feel most like in the present moment and believe that this will turn in to a reality much better than my dreams could imagine.
Because I’m not working towards the idea of how something will be, but from the present reality of what is. Which will lead to living every moment to the fullest.
Now you may say that because I have money I can do this, and if you don’t have money you can’t. But looking back at life I’ve always earned the most money when I’ve not done stuff for fun and to learn, because the energy I’ve put in have generated money not the strive for money it self.
So letting go of my daydreams have in the short term removed some joy and happiness in my life, but I can see that long term creating from the present moment I will be so much better.
